2024 Biomedical Challenge – Are We Winning the War on Cancer?

This past week, high school students from all over Orange County convened at the Advent Health Nicholson Center to answer the question, “Have We Won the War on Cancer?”

Students had 3 minutes to present information about their chosen cancer to a panel of medical professionals, answer questions from the panel, and decide whether we have “won the war on cancer.” In addition to their oral presentation, the medical students filmed public service announcements educating viewers on various cancers.

The winners of the Public Service Announcement are:

3rd Place – Team “Testacular” – Ocoee HS

2nd Place – Team “STEM Sisters” – Olympia HS

1st Place – Team “The Gallies” – Ocoee HS

The winners of the overall challenge are:

3rd Place – Team “Bile Bandits” – Ocoee HS

2nd Place – Team “Breast Foot Forward” – Olympia HS
