As a part of OCPS and CTE’s partnership with the CFHLA (Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association), students in Olympia High School’s hospitality and culinary Program had the opportunity to visit the JW Marriott Bonnet Creek Hotel recently.
While there, students gained valuable industry insight during a career panel with the hotel’s leadership. These rising hospitality leaders also learned about event sales and how to set up a banquet properly. They also had the chance to explore the beautiful hotel and its various job opportunities, and even had the chance to create their lunch in a commercial kitchen!
Experiences such as this make classroom lessons and projects come to life as students see how their learnings are applied in the real world. These students had a great time learning in a real-world setting!
Thank you again to the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association for your steadfast commitment to nurturing talent, fostering growth, and preparing the next generation of hospitality professionals.
